In recognition of the fact that it’s one of the most sung-about car brands, Chevrolet has launched a pan-European competition to find the next hit record to feature the company’s evocative name.
So far, over 600 singles have reached the charts with mention of Chevrolet or Chevy in them, and the fact was marked last year with the introduction of Chevrolet Legends Volume One, a CD of Chevrolet-related music given out as part of the company's Dream Garage competition.
In conjunction with the Music Nation website, Chevrolet Europe is offering budding musicians the chance to get their own record featured on Chevrolet Legends Volume Two. All potential rock, pop, folk or country stars have to do is upload an original track to the dedicated Chevrolet Music Nation website by February 19 to be in with a chance, and each song must feature the word 'Chevrolet' or 'Chevy' somewhere in its lyrics.
The winner will be chosen by a judging panel from both Chevrolet and Music Nation, while the public will also be able to cast their vote via the Music Nation website, with the overall winner receiving US $500.
