Glossary

Even though we do try to avoid using technical terminology across our websites, there maybe times when you may need further help to understand some of the features described on our cars. That's what this glossary is for. Search alphabetically.

 

LPG CO2 emission

- The amount of CO2 emissions contained in the exhaust gases of a car, typically measured in g/100km
 

LPG Fuel consumption – combined

- A combined measurement of LPG fuel consumption, calculated according to a pre-defined formula,of urban and extra-urban driving, expressed in litres per 100 kilometresor miles per gallon (UK, US).
 

LPG Fuel consumption – urban

- The amount of LPG fuel used while driving in an urban environment, expressed in litres per 100 kilometres or miles per gallon (UK, US).
 

LPG Fuel consumption– extra-urban

- The amount of LPG fuel used while driving out of town, expressed in litres per 100 kilometres.
 

LPG gas tank volume

- Measured in litres, this is the maximum capacity of the LPG fuel tank.
 

Leather gear knob

- Leather-covered gear knob.
 

Leather steering wheel

- The steering wheel covered with leather, which is good for grip comfort especially on longer journeys.
 

Leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls

- The steering wheel with integrated audio system controls, covered with leather.
 

Legroom front

- A measurement in milimetres, it's the amount of available front passenger leg space.
 

Legroom rear

- A measurement in milimetres, it's the amount of available rear passenger leg space.
 

Legroom, 3rd row

- A measurement in milimetres, it's the amount of available leg space for passengers in the third row of seats (in 7-seat cars like Orlando and Captiva) .
 

Length

- The total length of a car measured from the foremost point of the front bumper to the furthest-away part of the rear bumper.
 

Level ride suspension

- A system which automatically adjusts the suspension according to the load the car is carrying.
 

Liquefied petroleum gas

- LPG, like petrol, is also derived from crude oil and is a mixture of low-boiling hydrocarbons. It is liquid at ambient temperatures. LPG is significantly cheaper than either petrol or diesel, which means lower running costs. LPG is safe and easy to use.
 

Load space 2nd and 3rd row down to roof line

- A measurement in litres of the boot space up to the roof line if the second and third row of seats (in 7-seat cars like Orlando and Captiva) are folded down and stowed.
 

Load space 2nd and 3rd row down to window line

- A measurement in litres of the boot space up to the parcel shelf or window line if the second and third row of seats (in 7-seat cars like Orlando and Captiva) are folded down and stowed.
 

Load space 3rd row down to roof line

- A measurement in litres of the boot space up to the roof line if the third row of seats (in 7-seat cars like Orlando and Captiva) are folded down and stowed.
 

Load space 3rd row down to window line

- A measurement in litres of the boot space up to the parcel shelf or window line if the third row of seats (in 7-seat cars like Orlando and Captiva) are folded down and stowed.
 

Load space seats folded

- A measurement in litres of the boot space up to the parcel shelf or window line if the rear seats are folded down and stowed.
 

Load space seats up

- A measurement in litres of the boot space up to the parcel shelf or window line. This is the standard figure without any seats being folded down.
 

Lock control – tailgate open with key only

- A central locking device operated by a remote control which unlockes all doors remotely apart from the tailgate which is unlocked with the use of the key.
 

Lockout protection

- Safety feature that prevents the vehicle from being locked when the keys are in the ignition.
 

Luggage shade

- Concealed behind the audio system fascia, this is a compartment for smaller items. Depending on the model and trim level you choose, with integrated USB/aux-in port.
