SOHC

- SOHC refers to an engine with one single camshaft that operate both the fuel intake and exhaust valves.

Satellite Navigation (with USB socket)

- A satellite navigation system designed for use in cars. Using GPS the device locates the car's position and can give best route directions to other destinations based on your preferences and traffic conditions.

Seat back pocket

- Storage pockets fitted to the backs of the driver and front passenger seat. Ideal for books and magazines.

Seatbelt reminder – rear

Shoulder room

- A horizontal measurement in milimetres for one seat in the car. Front row and rear row shoulder room is usually different.

Shoulder room, 3rd row

- A horizontal measurement in milimetres for one seat in the 3rd row of the car.

Side impact beams

- An active safety feature, these are re-inforced torsional beams built into the front and rear doors to protect passengers in the event of a side-on collision.

Side mirrors – heated & power adjustable

- The side mirrors can be remotely adjusted to exactly the right angle for the driver to get the best view. Electrically heated, the mirror clears quickly when it's wet or cold outside.

Side mirrors – heated, power adjust, auto dimming & folding

- The side mirror can be remotely adjusted to exactly the right angle for the driver to get the best view. Electrically heated, the mirror clears quickly when it's wet or cold outside. Glare from other headlamps is reduced thanks to electrochromic dimming. The mirrors can also be folded remotely to protect them from damage when the car is parked.

Side skirts

- A cosmetic addition of an extra body panel fitted over the sills to make a car look more sporty.

Silver-effect front & rear skid plates

- A steel, aluminum or plastic shield attached to the underside of the chassis to protect vulnerable components (oil pan, transmission, differentials and transfer cases) from off-road obstacles. Also called sump guard.

Six-way manually adjustable driver's seat

- Driver and front passenger can manually adjust the seating position 6 different ways: move seat forward/back; lower/raise the seatback up/or down; tilt the seat cushion up/down

Six-way power adjustable driver's seat

- Power driver seat that allows both the driver and front passenger the option of 6 different seat positions. Move the seat forward / back, tilt the seat cushion up or down and move the position of the back of the seat forward / backward.

Space saver spare wheel

- Space saver spare tyres are smaller than regular tyres, weigh less and do not take up so much space in the boot. However, they are not designed to drive long distances and most of them have maximum speed of around 50 mph (80km/h). Please refer to your individual car manual for more detailed information.

Speed sensitive power steering

- A type of power-assisted steering which is light effort at low speeds and increasingly heavier effort at higher speeds, giving the driver a more realistic feel for the road. See also power steering.

Sport bucket seats with perforated leather

- Sports seats made with perforated leather (for added grip and breathability) and seat adjusters power bolster & lumbar support.

StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System

- A passive safety feature, ESC is a computerised technology that improves a car's stability by detecting and minimizing skids. When the system detects a loss of steering control, it automatically applies the brakes to help "steer" the car in the right direction. The braking action is applied to each wheel individually, to the outer front wheel to counter oversteer, or to the inner rear wheel to counter understeer. In short, it helps to minimize the loss of control.

Start/Stop button

- Start/stop system enhances fuel efficiency and emissions performance by shutting off the engine when the vehicle is stationary, in neutral gear with the foot off the clutch. As soon as the clutch is depressed, the engine starts up again. Can be disabled at the touch of a button.

Steering coumn with power adjustable telescopic and manul tilt functions

- Allows the driver to electronically adjust the height and distance of the steering wheel for personal comfort and convenience.

Steering wheel mounted audio controls

- Make driving more convenient and more safe, since the driver no longer have the need to rear over and change stations, adjust the volume, change audio modes or - depending on the model and trim you choose - the driver can also answer their Bluetooth enabled phone.

Steering wheel mounted paddle shifters

- Advanced driving enhancement feature that allows the driver to sequentially shift gears manually via paddle-style shift controls on the steering wheel. Found in race and performance cars.

Steering – power

- Power steering makes steering lighter and easier. Controlled energy is added to the steering mechanism, so the driver needs to provide only modest effort. Particularly helpful when a car is either stationary or moving very slowly (e.g. when parking).

Steering – power, speed-sensitive, rack & pinion, variable ratio

- Steering mechanism consisting of a gear linked to a rack that connects to the wheels. When the gear is rotated by the steering shaft, it moves the rack from side to side, turning the wheels. Rack-and-pinion steering generally improves handling and driver comfort and control.

Storage compartments – trunk

- Depending on the model various storage compartments to organize your items in the boot of the car.

Stripes

- Depending on the model you like to buy there is a variety of decorative stripes available in the different colours that can be mounted on the exterior of the car.

Stroke

- The distance the piston moves when traveling from bottom dead center (BDC) to Top dead center (TDC) in the cylinder.

Sunroof, electric slide

- Sunroof that slides open and shut via an electronic switch.
